It is an ideal programme in achieving a recognised qualification, in a nutshell, a shorter and flexible pathway of attaining a degree in your chosen field. The ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Management is an Ofqual regulated qualification in the UK that is recognised and will let you enhance your higher education in a shorter amount of time. The ATHE Level 4 Diploma will provide you with the knowledge of National Occupational Standards. Entry requirement
- You must be 18 years and over
- GCE Advanced Level profile with achievement in 2 or more subjects
- 5 GSCEs at Grade C and above
- Other related level 3 subjects
- ATHE Level 3 Diplomas
- May have relevant work experience

The Business Environment (Level 4, 15 Credit). Mandatory. | This unit will develop learners’ understanding of the national and global business environment and the internal and external circumstances in which different organisations operate. |
People in Organisations (Level 4, 15 Credit). Mandatory. | This unit aims to develop knowledge and understanding of those aspects of organisations that concern and support people. This includes communication practices, teamwork, remote working and other organisational structures. |
Communication Skills for Business (Level 4, 15 Credit). Mandatory. | This unit aims to develop knowledge and understanding of the communication practices within organisations and learners are introduced to the different modes and channels of communication used in organisations. |
Financial and Management Accounting Techniques for Managers (Level 4, 15 Credit). Mandatory. | To develop a knowledge and understanding of fundamental financial and management accounting techniques that are used by managers in organisations and to develop skills enabling learners to apply these techniques. |

Assessment method
In order to successfully complete this course, a learner MUST complete 4 mandatory units and 4 optional units totaling 120 credits, to gain ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Management. This course will be graded as follows: Pass, Merit and Distinction. A range of assessment tools will be used, and this might include assessment through:
- A research activity resulting in the compilation of a report
- The compilation of a case study
- A set project completed for an employer (also known as an ‘employer-engagement’ activity)
- The production of a portfolio of evidence relating to a particular unit
Certification and awarding body
Upon a successful completion of this programme as stipulated by ATHE, you will be awarded ‘the ATHE Level 4 Extended Diploma in Business and Management’. Awards for Training and Higher Education (ATHE) is a global awarding organisation, regulated by the Office of Qualifications and Examinations Regulation (Ofqual). ATHE regulates qualifications, examinations and assessments in England.
